  • Question

  • Hi,

i know it's possible to run MAP 6 with a remote sql/sqlexpress. It's also possible to disable the downloading and install of sql express during the MAP setup? I don't need the sql express and i don't want it.

  • It is not possible to run MAP on a remote installation of SQL and you do not have to use SQL Express.  You do have to use a non-default instance of SQL named MAPS.  During the installation process, if the MAP Toolkit detects the SQL instance called MAPS running on the local machine, it will not try to install SQL Server Express.  Details on proper configuration of the MAPS instance can be found in the MAP FAQ.
