upgrade Internet Explorer in Server 2008 R2 SP1 from IE8 to IE10/11 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Server 2008 R2 x64 Standard Edition and My requirement is to Update Its IE from IE 8 to minimum 10 for specific application.

First I have downloaded SP1 for the same and installed it on  server then I have downloaded IE 10 and IE 11 for the same OS and tried to Install but it says this is not for your computer....

Then I pushed all the patches from the WSUS and tried to Install IE 10 and IE 11 but not succeed.. I tried to googled and find pre-requisites on Microsoft sites for IE 11 on server 2008 r2 sp1 but they give me error 404 page not found..

So can anyone please guide how to upgrade Internet Explorer in Server 2008 R2 x64 Standard Edition to minimum Internet Explorer 10...

    Please Assist..

    Thanks in Advance..

  • Hey Thanks a lot for reply...

What i did in my case is,

I made Internet Directly available to the server and then push the server to check the updates directly from Microsoft server and then installed the patches step by step as received by the server and Finally Internet Explorer 11 for Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 x64 based Architecture received and my job is done....

By the way Thanks a lot for the reply Ray Jia...

    Thanks.
