How to deploy SSAS cubes to another analysis server?

Question
-
Hi,
I am researching on various BI tools. I want to know is it possible to use SSAS cubes in another tools?
My findings show that we can connect to IBM cognos cubes via SSAS and vice versa. As we know we can get SSAS cubes as XMLA codes. My question is twofold:
1- Can we connect to SSAS database from another server like Mondrian or Microstrategy or some others?
2- Can we get XMLA codes using SSAS and then generate cubes in other servers from those XMLA codes?
I will very thankful for any solution

Hi farhad
1) some other vendor client tools can connect to the SSAS server (like Microstrategy). That is a client/server environment, not a server to server. However, you can use SSAS as a data source for other servers like in the case of BusinessObjects universes.
2) I dont believe you can use XMLA from SSAS in other vendor's OLAP software. Thought XMLA is a standard, my understanding is that XMLA-scripted SSAS objects can only be used in SSAS. The reason i think this is that the xml namespace in the declaration specifies the analysis service engine...
