Is it possible to not cache a shared mailbox set via GPO/registry but not set it as enforced? RRS feed

    You can use downloadsharedfolders in the registry or GPO settings to disabled caching for shared mailboxes.  The option is the "download shared folders" setting found in Account Settings for your mailbox > more settings > advanced.

    The issue is when setting the option via GPO or registry, it is disabled but also enforced so the end user cannot change it.  If you remove the GPO/registry, the option turns on and becomes adjustable.

    Is there a way to make it so that it's disabled and adjustable by end users?

    Hi David,

    Once you set this via GPO, this feature is not available to all users in your organization. This is by design. 

    So it is suggested to ask them to uncheck "Download shared folders" themselves, then they are able to adjust it manually via check it.
