Autopilot Intune skipping MDM screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm having a strange issue where when deploying a PC through Autopilot intune it skips this MDM setup screen.

Its the "Setting up your device for work" screen(I'm unable to include it in the post)

The user says they never receive this screen. It does work, the PC joins the domain and EVENTUALLY the apps and configuration come through but it takes a few hours. Has anyone seen this? Heres some relevant info:

    -Hybrid Azure AD Join

-Every configuration including apps, device configurations, and powershell scripts are assigned to a dynamic device security group.

    Thank you in advance

Answers

  • Hello,

I would recommend to check the ESP configuration in Intune. In Intune portal, you can navigate to Device enrollment - Windows enrollment > Enrollment Status Page. Please make sure the ESP has already been enabled. Please click here for more details about ESP.

In addition, please check the device status in Intune, and make sure it's managed and compliance. You can navigate to the following two locations, and the device item should listed there.

    • Devices - All devices
    • Devices - Azure AD devices

    Best regards,

  • Is it skipping the enrollment status page? During the ESP it should do the hybrid azure ad join, can you confirm that the device is hybrid azure ad joined?

  • Thank you yes the ESP was NOT enabled but as a follow up question. Why does the device not immediately receive apps and configurations? It seems like for azure hybrid ad join it takes longer for it to push configurations.

  • You can't compare the hybrid process to regular Azure AD AutoPilot. It's very different and can take a lot longer (and can be frustrating). Michael Niehaus does a good job explaining how it works here
