Lync failing on CFB (Call Forward on Busy). RRS feed

  • Question

  • Call scenario: Lync is callin an ISDN-PBX with Call Forwarding on Busy (CFB) activated:

INVITE from Lync specify 100rel supported and UPDATE in allow-header. When the 2nd call is set up (toward CFB number) an UPDATE is set to Lync, but Lync answers: 491 - GatewayCall is not in connected state.

Why does not Lync accept this UPDATE?

More signalling details are available on request

  • Hi,

The CFB is a option for ISDN-PBX?

Do you set the CFB number on ISDN-PBX?

  • Yes, that is correct. Lync is the A-side and is sending UPDATE in allow-header of the first INVITE as one of the methodes it is supporting. But when an UPDATE occors,  Lync is not able to handle it!  CFB on the ISDN-PBX is not so important - that is hidden behind the Media Gateway Controller and the Session Border Controller.

  • I still can not understand your voip deployment in your company.

Do you deploy two voip system in your company, one is PBX and another is lync enterprise voice?

Do you mean the lync client can not call your ISDN-PBX extension? If yes, you can try to disable the CFB on the PBX.

What's the mean of the UPDATE?

You can try to use Lync logging tools to get more error logs about this problem.
