Event ID 4506 Data was dropped due to too much outstanding data in rule RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a Special MP from vendor Audiocodes (Network SNMP device) for SCOM 2007 R2 and get the allert 4506 on the Scom Server :

Data was dropped due to too much outstanding data in rule "Audiocodes.GW.Management.Pack.Trunk.EthernetPort.BoardEthernetLinkAlarm.Timed.Monitor" running for instance "10.138.134.11 Mediant 1000 - MSBG: acMediant1000CPUmodule at Slot 7: Ethernet Port #1" with id:"{C3A6E14A-7DFD-310C-2984-30D0DEF49805}" in management group "FST".

I think it is a Management Problem?

  • Not sure it's a MP issue, we see this from various mp's.  This is the SCOM agent just telling you data was dropped because it couldn't process enough (imho).  Do you have good performance in your configuration group?  Any other rules monitors showing this?

  • Yes, I wait for an answer and will post there solution.

First I will check the patchlevel and other things, because I see also that the health Service crashed sometimes with Event ID 4000
