  • Most management packs require proxy enable.  I would recommend enable proxy for all your servers going forward so as to avoid any proxy issues.

As far as the Exchange Correlation Engine not able to communicate with the RMS.  I see this from time to time on our RMS and I have no idea why it occurs, as there is limited documentation on it.  You will see the warnings and then a retry count.  I usually see a retry count of no more than 1.

We are not full blown Exchange 2010, but are ramping up so I will probably be hammering on this MP more and more going forward.

You must ensure that you read the guide.  Very, very, very important.  Also the Correlation Engine creates it's own SDK instance space, so be sure your RMS has adequate memory.

  • did you download from the System Center Catalog (http://pinpoint.microsoft.com/systemcenter) and then download the MP guide?  There are special steps you need to do to deploy and set up this management pack, and these are described in the guide.

  • Uninstall the MP.

Download the MP pack here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=7150bfed-64a4-42a4-97a2-07048cca5d23&displaylang=en

Install the MP on the RMS - remember to check "Allow the agent to act as a proxy and discover managed objects on other computers" on all Exchange 2010 servers

  • Hi,

First of all you have to wait for the mp discovery to take place. Let it rest for 12 hours for this.
Furthermore there are issues with the Exchange MP for SCOM 2007 R2 and SCOM 2012.
See http://www.toolzz.com/?p=63 for a step by step guide for monitoring Exchange 2010 and http://www.toolzz.com/?p=49 for the Correlation Service Issue.
