Windows 2012 R2 WSUS & Bits 5.0 - How to limit maximum bandwidth for clients? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I tried to limit maximum bandwidth with Group Policy:

    Network/Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)
Limit the maximum network bandwidth for BITS background transfers

But it seems that this settings is ignored. When it does, I have to stop "Word Wide Web Publishing Service". Therefore I think that it is not downloaded by BITS, because I can stop BITS, but download continue.

Is this normal? Do you have any idea, how to set it?

    Thank you in advance.

How did you configure this setting?

    and

    Where did you apply it?

  • Hi,

From my point of view, if we want to limit the network traffic, we should use network device to achieve it.

    Best Regards.
