Using FILTER function in a Filter Link Formula RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to filter the results in an Analytic Grid to only show amounts > 100,000.  I'd like to keep my navigation drill-downs, so I can't simply edit the MDX query behind the grid.  I was wondering if it's possible to use a Filter Link Formula to accomplish the same task.  Here's what I've tried, with no luck.

    1) Created a tabular list that contains three entries (50000, 100000, 150000).
    2) Created a link to my grid linking to a dimension (rows) and using the Source value field set to "Value".
    3) Edited the Formula Link Filter and specified the following:

        [Measures].[Total  Allowance] > <<SourceValue>>
    [Measures].[Total  Allowance]

Note: If using a tabular list is not feasible, I'd be fine with hard-coding the <<SourceValue>> to 100000.

I'm new to MDX, so I don't know if my issue is with syntax or that it's even feasible to do what I'm asking.

  • Can you provide more information on how the grid is setup?  What is on columns, rows, and background?

You should be fine with just doing the following:

        [Measures].[Total  Allowance] > <<SourceValue>>
