[Case Sharing] Windows 10 device cannot be removed from Intune RRS feed

  • This post explains the scenario that Windows 10 device cannot be removed from Intune.

    Issue description

    Windows 10 device cannot be removed from Intune. The following two actions has been performed, but the device still cannot be removed completely. The new enrollment for this device failed.

    Action 1: For the Windows 10 device, it has been disconnected manually as below.

    Action 2: For the Intune portal, the device item has been retired from the Intune portal.


    Even the retired and disconnect action have been performed, there is cached registry prohibiting the new enrollment.


    On Windows 10 device, open the Registry Edition, and find the cached registry at the location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Enrollments, then remove it. Please refer to the following screenshot for more details.
