  • Question

  • Can Anyone either point me to documentation or please explain to me DPM reports.

I need to be able to relay to upper management what the details of these reports mean.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

those numbers:  Data Volumes   289 160 55   289 expected  160 available  55 percentagemean given configured protection group settings I expect to see 289 recovery points but only see 160 which comes down to 55%.

Thank you for your reply. I have read these articles but it still does not explain what the article is

    explaining. Here is an example:

    Data Volumes   289 160 55   289 expected  160 available  55 percentage

    Sharepoint        3143 66 2    3143 expected  66 available  2 percentage

    System State    209 72 34    209 expected  72 available   34 percentage

These are the number for short term protection.

and the config for these protect groups are as follows:

Data Volumes has 3 members and 5 protection jobs 7 day retention 4 times a day.

Sharepoint  has 1 member and 2 protection jobs 7 day retention 4 times a day.

System states  has 8 members and 8 protection jobs 7 day retention once everyday.

  • Did you go through the help files of DPM (click view report-> Click on help button that comes on the Winform for generating the report).

  • Do we need to get paid support to get the sample answered?

  • Thanks for the math lesson

I need to know how DPM is getting these number because they are not what the configuration is set for.
