FCS management in midsize business RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

System Center Essentials 2007 is a great new management solution for midsize businesses (25 servers, 300 clients) we are waiting for and want to deploy this year. We also plan to deploy new FCS. But now it looks like it is impossible to integrate FCS management and reporting (based on MOM 2005 and SQL Server Enterprise) to new SCE 2007.

Does it mean that first release of FCS was not designed for management integration in midsize business (SCE) and we must buy MOM 2007 instead of SCE 2007 or wait for next version of FCS, SCE? Is SCE wrong way for FCS management?

    Thanks

  • Hello!

FCS uses MOM 2005 for it's client mgmt and we do not support using SCE 2007.  FCS v1 wasn't designed to complete integration (single reporting and console) with SCE.  FCS v1 doesn't support MOM 2007 - we are looking at a tighter integration between the MOM/SCE products and the next edition of FCS

    Thanks
