Thin Client as UAG endpoint? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a user at a location that utilized thin clients running windowxp through terminal services.  The installation of the UAG endpoint components appears to work normally, however when she logs into the portal trunk, the link to the citrix web interface application she is trying to access is greyed out, and displays the message "This application requires that the Socket Forwarding Component is installed on your computer"

The setup was done with an account that has admin rights on the terminal session.

Is it possible the client components need to be installed on the terminal server host itself, instead of just this users session?

  • Hi,

I hope you found your answer by now but the client components need to be installed on the windows-xp image.  You can predeploy the components if you like by enabling offline installation or distribute the .msi file thats on UAG to the client.
