Forefront Client Security trial - Definition updates no longer installed RRS feed

  • Question

  • Running FCS trial on single server with Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2005.

Since successfully implementing FCS trial on 4/1, clients had been installing Definition Updates for Microsoft FCS on a daily basis.  However, this stopped on 4/20 with Definition  WSUS shows that the Definition Updates (and other non-FCS updates) since that date display the message that "The files for this update have not yet been downloaded.  The update can be approved but will not be available to computers until the download is complete."

Is this solely an issue with the WSUS component of FCS?  Or are there other components or factors contributing to WSUS not being able to download and distribute these updates?

  • This is a WSUS problem.  Odds are you either may have filled up the disk where wsus content resides or you need to try to restart your wsus service/bits service.
