Does the Environment Results show IP phones? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am running the Microsoft Assessment and Planning toolkit on my company's network and I had a simple question about it.

I have hundreds of IP phones throughout the building and I was wondering if it's possible that they are showing up on the report.

Its the only explanation for some of the failed statuses I'm getting.

Answers

  • If you are using an IP address range for your discovery method, then yes, they will show up as "discovered" devices because MAP was able to determine that there was something with that IP address, even if MAP couldn't inventory whatever it is. This will be true for any IP connected device within the range scanned.
