Can DPM 2007/2010 restore data from tapes which were created using BackupExec RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

We currently are using DPM2007 & 2010 and are wondering if we can restore data held on our old Backup Exec tapes? We have tried cataloguing the tapes in DPM but they show up as Unrecognised so it is not looking good. Does anyone know if this is possible?

  • No, it's not possible

I do know that it used to be possible with NTBackup (not Windows Server Backup) as long as there is no compression on the tape used

    Just my 2 cents,

  • Hi

You can never read the information on the tapes that BE wrote but you can erase them and re-use them in DPM.
