Can't get Azure backup installer to finish RRS feed

  • Question

  • I tried several times to get the installer to complete on the server but always end up with an error at the end of the process and a failed installation.

The error has to do with DPM and this is the error message from the end of the DPMSetup log file:

  • Hi,

I would suggest you to check the list of supported operating systems from which you can back up to Azure using Azure Backup, also please download the latest azure backup agent from here and install, here is sthe link for both:

  • All of my servers are running Server 2012 R2 and are fully up to date but the installer always has some type of error like above.

Seems to be an extremely difficult and temperamental install.  I'm guessing there should be more information and checks added to the installer so if certain components are not as expected it could give some better information instead of a generic error message on everything it encounters.

  • Hi,

Did you try installing the latest azure backup agent from the above link and check?

Also try to disable any security software and check.

  • Its the latest version of the software as of yesterday.

The server doesn't have any security software and is a fresh install with only Hyper-V running.
