Uninstall Internet Explorer 8 completely RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have followed the microsoft instructions and uninstalled all of I.E.8 except one part that is still in the control panel and does not show a button to remove it.  I have installed the latest service pack 3 and the security updates.  Everytime I try to install Internet Explorer 7 (school elearning requires I.E.7) I get the message - "setup cannot continue because a more recent version of Internet Explorer has been detected on this computer".  I click the ok button and the window closes.  Basically, nothing has changes.  1.  How can I get rid of this Internet Explorer 8 and 2.  How do I have Internet Explorer reactivate itself (or should I download it)???

If I have not reached the correct group - would you call me with the best group to go to?  School starts in a few days and I need this computer running correctly for my online classes.  I'm not working and don't have money to pay for a tech to look at it.  Please HELP me with this.  I would appreciate a call so you can walk me thru it while I'm on the computer (407) 230-5658.  My email is:  askofflorida@hotmail.com

    Thanks!!!

    Elaine
