Initial installation SfB2015 - Error: No databases discovered, skipping Install-CsDatabase...No roles discovered, skipping Enable-CsComputer... RRS feed

  • Question

  • First installation of SfB2015. Will not complete installation. when I run "Prepare single Standard Edition Server", it reports

    No databases discovered, skipping Install-CsDatabase...

    No roles discovered, skipping Enable-CsComputer...

I ran this command to manually create the DB:

Install-CsDatabase -CentralManagementDatabase -SqlServerFqdn rh-lync-fe.rhnc.org -SqlInstanceName RTC

This completed successfully, but when I run "Prepare single Standard Edition Server", it still reports that "No databases discovered".

    ...any suggestions?

  • Here's the deal!  This database isn't created when you click "Prepare first Standard Edition Server".  (that is where I was seeing the message).

It turns out, that the database isn't installed until you install the components (under the "Install or Update Skype for Business Serve System" option).

Thanks for everyone's feedback.  After I completed the installation, everything worked "perfectly".

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

From your description above, it is SFB Standard Edition and meet issue when run "Prepare first Standard Edition Server".

When run this step, it install SQL Express and install the RTC Instance and several database in it.

Please make sure you have prepared AD successfully and then created a shared folder and given the right permission.

    Best Regards

  • If you have the SQL Mgmt Studio you can check whether the database has got created. You can also check the installation log which gets created. Check permission of the account and the share location.
