Booking Forms

    Question

  • Dear All,

First time post on the forums.

We are using SharePoint 2013 Online and have an urgent requirement for an online booking form for training.  We are organising training for the O365 suit and want to manage the invites and bookings through SharePoint\Outlook.

Training sessions are limited to 10 spaces per session with multiple sessions running over multiple days.  Therefore, sending individual calendar invites are not ideal as people inboxes are going to multiple invites.

Ideally what we want is to issue a communication in Outlook with a link to SharePoint for users to choose suitable date book the course and get a calendar invite confirming the booking.

I have some sharepoint development skills in the team at the moment but not heavy so would consider 3rd party sites\webparts but seeing as the training is all on 365 I'd prefer to do as much as I can in SharePoint.

Any pointers\suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • The ideal solution will be you creating SharePoint hosted App. Given there is going to be some business logic I personally do not think you will be able to cut it using SharePoint Designer based workflows. But if you think your business logic can be achieved using the workflows then give it a thought as obviously that would be bit quicker to achieve.

I would also recommend checking Office Store and see if any app that suits your needs. e.g.

See if buying an app makes more sense in your scenario.

App I have listed above is just an example and I do not know anything about that app. I am just showing you that you can check the app store and see if you can find an app that fits your needs.

    Hope this helps.
