DPM 2010 backing up Sharepoint RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a DPM 2010 server that I am decommisioning. I have installed DPM 2010 on a new virtual machine. I stoped protection on the Sharepoint farm froom the old DPM server and uninstalled the agent from all farm servers adn sql servers. I have installed the agent on all farm members and sql servers. I created a protection group and added Sharepoint to it. After the first backup I get the alert "DPM could not obtain backup metadata for Sharepoint Farm"  I re-ran the "cofiguresharepoint.exe" and still get the same results when attempting a backup. Can someone assist me in finding why I can't get a good backup of our Sharepoint.

Answers

  • Found the issue. The account used with the configuresharepoint was valid for all sharepoint databases on the sql server but one. I reran with a user that had rights to all the sharepoint related databases on the sql server and now we are showing ok for the backup.

    Thank You

  • Did you review all the possible fixes? What solution did you attempt to output that error?

  • Did you use my post to find your answer?

  • No,  I was on another site that directed me to the application logs. I looked at them this yesterday but appearently they weren't recent enough. Looked again this morning after trying a backup and I seen the error stating the account I was using was denied access. Thank You for responding to my question so quickly though. It is much appreciated.
