DPM 2010 "cant see all Protected servers" RRS feed

  • Question

  • I’m having an issue, I cant “see” some servers so I cant
    protect them.

I have 3 DPM servers. 2 in Headoffice
    DPM1, DPM2.

    1 at DRcenter DPMDR.

Server DPM1 protects a group of machines at headoffice

Server DPM2 protects another group of machines in headoffice

Server DPMDR can see DPM1 and it’s protected machines, I then protect it no problem.

Server DPMDR can see DPM2 and SOME of it’s protected machines.

I need to see the rest so I can protect it in DRcenter (DPMDR).

What am I missing here? Ideas?

  • Hi All

What I wound up doing is removing DPM and reinstalling it.

That fixed the issue. If I were a SQL expert I'm sure I could have found the issue, but I'm not.

  • When I connect to the DPMDR server I can see DPM1 and it's protected servers (all of them), but when I look at DPM2 I can only see 12 of the 20+ protected servers

  • The data being protected would be BRM, sys-state, "C" drive and other drive letters also some of the servers have SQL or SharePoint. Basicly a hodge-poge of data.

  • I have no clue of what could have happened here.
I'll let someone else resolve your issue.

    Sorry about that.

  • Are any of the workloads that the primary DPM2 is protecting workgroup computers? At any stage have some of the protected data sources been moved from DPM1 to DPM2?

  • Hi.

You probably had the Agents of the missing servers attached to the DPMDR server aswell as the DPM2. I had the same issue, once i went to the agents tab and clicked "Removed the record of the computer fron this DPM server" i could see the server under the Protected servers.

  • You saved my Day!!!!! This Solution was right.

When removing the Agents from the DPM i can see and protect all protected Servers from DPM2. Thanks!
