List of 1803 Store apps to remove before sysprep? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Certain apps cause sysprep to fail.

I want to run a script to remove all the apps that break sysprep immediately before running the sysprep and capture task sequence.

I can't keep the device offline because I want to run Windows updates online before sysprepping so there are no Windows updates installations needed during deployment.

I know about Duolingo, Network Speed Test and Eclipse Manager.  What others?

Is there another way to keep these problem apps from installing other than keeping the system used for building the master image from having access to the internet?

  • There are multiple ways of dealing with the issue: you could disable Store updates / consumer experience if you are on Windows 10 Enterprise / Edu (https://deploymentresearch.com/Research/Post/615/Fixing-why-Sysprep-fails-in-Windows-10-due-to-Windows-Store-updates), you could disable Store internet access using Windows Firewall (https://gal.vin/2017/10/17/building-windows-10-1709-fall-creators-update-reference-image-walkthrough/) or you could simply remove apps after the fact as outlined by Michael Niehaus (https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/mniehaus/2018/04/17/cleaning-up-apps-to-keep-windows-10-sysprep-happy/), but I would not recommend it.
