WSUS Clients Not Updateing RRS feed

  • Hi All,

    having issues with my WSUS server. the first error i was getting was 

    since a couple of weeks ago my servers do not appear to be getting there updates via WSUS, I have tried many suggestions online and to no avail have not come up with a solution, Im hoping someone here might have some ideas for me to try?

    after some time i decided to try and remove and reinstall WSUS, and now when trying to update my servers i get the below;

  • Hi skateonice,

    1. What is the version of your WSUS server? Do all WSUS servers not update from the WSUS server? If your WSUS server is 3.0 version, then check if it is the latest version 3.2.7600.274, if not, install KB2938066 to upgrade your WSUS server;

    2. If all clients have issues updating from WSUS server, then do WSUS maintenance (Server Cleanup and reindex WSUS database) and check the result  :

    3. Also check clients' status on WSUS server, check if WSUS clients have reported recently and if WSUS report show any errors.

    4. On WSUS clients, we may reset windows update components and reset SusClientID:

    5. Check if you are running on third-party software on WSUS server and WSUS clients, also do anti-virus scan both on WSUS clients and WSUS server.

    6. Check DNS resolution and network connection on WSUS clients, check if clients could contact with WSUS server.

    If after doing all steps above, issue still exits, then post the latest windows updates log on clients. WSUS server's log are location in C:\program files\update services\logfiles.

    If you do not want to troubleshoot the original one, then rebuilt WSUS server is also a wise choose, since WSUS is easy to deploy and this may save much time and energy.
