db:user is what domain or authentication

I have a SharePoint 2007 site, in the Members group of the site I see 2 users who have account as a db:username1 and db:username2 Can anyone share what does db: stand for here? It is definitely not Windows authentication.

Hi,
How does other people show up? In order to check the authentication type, you can to Centra Administration site. Select the Application Management tab, under the Application Security section click on the Authentication providers. Then you can change the web applicaiton to check the authentication type for the site where the 2 user
appears. You can also use custom code to get current user authentication type.For more information, please refer to this site:

Thanks Entan, Unfortunately I cannot use the code to find out user type, however I found that we have a Extended web application and the authentication type here is FBA.
