Project 2010 and Integration with Exchange 2003 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are about to roll out 2010 Project server, but currently we have Exchange 2003.  I know that through our prep work that it requires 2007 or 2010 Exchange for Integrated Outlook.  But I am unable to find out if that is all I will loose if we implement with 2003 Exchange.  We can live with out the users being able to update tasks in Outlook, but will having exchange 2003 also prevent PWA from e-mailing out notifications around time submission and publishing of new tasks for individuals?

    thanks in advance

  • Hi Robert,

You can work with Exchange 2003 to receive e-mail notificaion from Project Server and SharePoint Server, but you will miss the task and timesheet progress submission in Outlook 2007 or later. This can be done with Exchange 2007 or 2010 only.
