Get Pro from Enterprise VLSC ISO?

    Question

  • I'm in a bizarre situation with Windows 10. Our company has the KMS and MAK licenses for Windows 10 Professional. We have the VLSC ISO for 1511. I've asked SHI for the Professional 1607 ISO, but they say there isn't one and said it covers Enterprise and Pro. From that, I'm assuming our license covers Enterprise and Pro, but I'm gonna ask them anyways.

Alternatively, using MDT can I install Pro using the Enterprise ISO?

edit: On our KMS server, our Key is listed under CSVLK and under Edition lists: Enterprise, EnterpriseN, EnterpriseS, EnterpriseSN, Professional, ProfessionalN, and Education, EducationN.

I did a DISM check and get the info below...

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool

    Version: 10.0.10586.0

    Details for image : [removed]\sources\install.wim

    Index : 1
    Name : Windows 10 Enterprise
    Description : Windows 10 Enterprise
    Size : 14,613,184,786 bytes

    The operation completed successfully.

  • Hello,

I just checked on the Volume Licensing site and I see the Windows 10 Professional download for 1607 available for download which would be easier just to use that ISO.

There are separate ISO files for Professional and Enterprise they are not the same ISO.

  • Either way, we can’t install Pro system by Enterprise iso directly.

What we can do is just degrading Enterprise edition to Pro edition.

How does that work? Also, can that be done using MDT?
