not to start automatically skype for business when user login RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi all,

We have deployed office 365 in our corporation. Some users don't like start automatically skpye for business when they login.

So I have created AD Security Group and put in GP. In gp I have added registry preferences with settings HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Lync  EnableSkypeUI REGBINARY 1. But it is not working.

Is there any other way to accomplish this task in GP?

    THANKS.

Answers

  • Hi,

Did you mean not want Skype for Business UI but the Lync UI or you want Skype for Business software not open after the OS start?

The registry parameter EnableSkypeUI used to control the Skype for Business or Lync UI.

If you want to not open the software after the OS start, you can refer to the link below:

  • hi Huang,

Thanks for your reply. It is Skype for business, when user login, it launches automatically. User like not to launch automatically but they can click on Skype for Business icon(shortcut) to launch it.
