IBCM Query RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone,

I need your help on confirming one query related to IBCM.

we are implementing IBCM with 1 CAS and for all 5 primary

went through the whole documentation on TechNet.

Please let me know does each primary need to have 1 IBCM server(MP/Dp)?

Is there any way to make 1 IBCM server work for all 5 primary?

    Thanks in advance

  • Every primary site would require their own Internet facing site system. The client will only be aware of the Internet FQDN, of the Internet facing site system, of it's own primary site.

  • Why have you decided to use 5 primary sites at all? How many clients are you going to manage?

  • For the question at hand, Peter is correct. It comes down to one simply fact: there is no roaming possible for clients connecting over the Internet because there is no way from them to locate site roles/systems within the other primary sites. Thus if there are clients in each primary that require Internet connectivity, each needs it's own Internet presence.

I concur with Torsten also. Primary sites are for scalability *only*. Unless you have more 100,000 clients, there are only fringe cases where more than one primary is required.
