  • We are trying to setup an Microsoft team rooms. We are using exchange 2016 on premise. We have the users and the resource rooms that are going to be used for Microsoft Team rooms in our Office 365 admin console. After doing a bit of reading it says to enable-remotemailbox on the resource rooms. Can you advise if this is required and if so what does this do? Is there anything else we need to do with the exchange resource room on premise mailboxes?

    These mailboxes already have the license for Microsoft Team rooms associated with their account.

    Yes, you need to enable the remote mailbox.

    If you want to deploy Teams meeting Room with Exchange on-premise, you need to use Active Directory administrative tools to add an email address for your on-premise domain account. You will need to:

    *Create an account and synchronize the account with Active Directory.

    *Enable the remote mailbox and set properties.

    *Assign an Microsoft 365 or Office 365 license.

    *Enable the device account with Skype for Business Server.

    *Assign a Skype for Business Server license to your Microsoft Teams Rooms account.
