Prob with opening Office 2010

Question
-
Hello
Having problem with Office 2010. Can not repair or even uninstall. There is some problem with my shortcut links. When I run the Office 2010 installer to repair or go thru the Control panel to repair my shortcut links to Office 2010 I get a message of "The update package could not be opened. Verify that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer update package".
Can not even uninstaller Office 2010 to reinstall. When I uninstall Office 2010 it goes thru the uninstall window and then does nothing else. Office 2010 remains on the disk and I still get the aforementioned error.
By the way I have previous versions of Office also (2003 and 2007).
Any help would be appreciated .....

Hi,
It's probably that the local installation source on the computer is corrupted. It is a copy of the compressed source files for the Office product that you install.
The easiest way to get things back is to run the easy fix tool to completely remove Office (including the previous versions of Office) from your computer, then try the installation again:

Please have a try and see if it works. Feel free to post back with any findings.
