Connector and backups to Windows Server 2011 SP1 fail RRS feed

  • Question

  • My problems is related to a machine running Windows 10 Pro with latest updates (couple days ago). I've download and installed the Windows Server Connector software dozens of times.  It deploys and displays on the dashboard (only light gray image shown) and I can't get the server setup to run for this machine. I believe this is a Windows 10 problem because I have another computer like this machine (OS etc.) that works fine. The firewalls are the same on the 2 computers as well as any other think I can think to check. Also a Windows 7 Pro machine working fine.

The connector dashboard shows "Cannot complete this task because the computer is either offline or it is not connected to the network"" when I try to configure the back for my problem machine.

I can ping the server, remote logon it and it sees this machine. I've searched the web but haven't found any useful info.

    Suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

  • This is a system center configuration manager forum. What product exactly are you having issues with (as it's not configuration manager)?

  • Josh,

I just found out in the last few minutes that it is definitely a Windows 10 problem.

  • Maybe, but it still has **nothing** to do with configuration manager as configuration does not have "connectors". So, once again, what product are you asking about so that I can move this to the appropriate forum.

  • Why not ask nicely and/or answer questions when asked?
