Microsoft Tablet PC Experience Pack: Ink Flash Cards RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are rolling out tablets to all the 9th graders at our school and we would really like to have Ink Flash Cards available for them to use since they are so versatile and could be a very helpful study tool.  Since there is no Tablet PC Experience Pack for Windows 7, I downloaded and extracted the Experience Pack for Windows Vista.  There, all the tools would run and all but the flash cards ran perfectly.  I keep getting this error:

"This template could not be opened.  This can be caused by an invalid format or image size.  Please select a different template."

It's almost like it's got a hard-coded path to a file that is non-existent.  Any help on understanding this error or suggestions on how to remove it would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks.

  • Frank from tabletpcreview.com had the solution. here it is.

So you try to use the Win Vista ink Flash card program in Windows 7, without installing it?

But at the moment you just copied the program files?

You also have to copy the Template files to the appropriate folder:
    Extract following file
    Ink Flash Cards.zip
    to
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\

so in the end you have following folder structure:
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Ink Flash Cards\Templates
where all the template files are located.
