  • Hi Ashish,

    Can you please provide the corresponding ULS logs?

    Did you customize the project site Template changing the default risk and issue list?

    Hope this helps,

  • Ashish, did you find a resolution for this?  I am experiencing the same issue after a Project Server upgrade to 2013.  I followed the steps to update the Enterprise Project Type after upgrade - https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff686780.aspx - but still not working.

  • Verify that the template works, by creating a site using the template. For example, go to the root of PWA, Site Settings, SIte Content, Add site and use the template.  If the site isn't create using this method, there is something wrong with the template.

  • Hi Michael,

    Yes, I think there was something wrong with the template so I created another one from scratch.  Interestingly, if I turn on the "SharePoint Server Publishing" Feature and then create a template out of that site, I get the below error.  I can't find much on the net about it.  Would that be expected behaviour?  No major deal if I can't turn it on on the template but would make a little easier.

    Sorry,
    something went wrong

    The field specified with name
    VideoSetDescription and ID {b76b58ec-0549-4f00-9575-2fd28bd55010} is not
    accessible or does not exist.

  • And to add to this, when I create the project through Project Client, I get the following error in the Queue.  I can successfully use this template when I create the site in SharePoint as a subsite.  I understand the Feature is in relation to the "SearchTaxonomyRefinementWebPartsHtml" .  I can't quite work out what feature needs to be activated??

  • I ended up resolving this issue as per this post on the SharePoint Online forum (worked in my on-premises too) - https://community.office365.com/en-us/f/156/t/167286 and the answer by "Lightbox"

    I had to do this for about 6 features which I don't know if this will cause a problem down the track but its working for now and a project site can be created through Project Client with no errors in the PWA Queue.

  • Hi,

    I am having the same issue. However I cannot open the link you provided above because some brilliant mind at Microsoft decided to change the URLs without adding any sort of redirection feature.

    Can you please let me know exactly what you did to fix this?

    Thanks!

    P.

  • We are experiencing the same issue in a SharePoint Online, the link you have here is broken, any chance you remember the steps to resolve?

  • Hi Kbrouder...

    That's a pain but thankfully, I did make my own notes about this - see below. It is a pretty fiddly task from memory...was a while ago.

    After creating a Project Site Template (without Publishing enabled), and creating a new site through Project Client, you may receive an error in the Queue - Job Type "Project Site Update" and the error as follows:-

    CreateWssSiteContent: Creating project site failed! Project Uid=3ca6ed34-0255-e511-80f9-005056a01f88, site URL=http://project/PWA/1145, site name=1145. Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: The site template requires that the Feature {8c34f59f-8dfb-4a39-9a08-7497237e3dc4} be activated in the site collection.   at Microsoft.SharePoint.Utilities.SPUtility.ThrowSPExceptionWithTraceTag(UInt32 tagId, ULSCat traceCategory, String resourceId, Object[] resourceArgs)   at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPWebTemplateElement.VerifyFeatures(XmlNodeList xmlNodeFeatures, SPWeb applyTemplateToThisWeb, SPFeatureScope featureScope, SPFeatureDependencyErrorBehavior featureDependencyErrorBehavior, List`1& ...

    The Features that are having the issue have to be disabled in the template.  Do the following:-

      • Rename the .wsp to a .cab file and extract (Project Template) using winrar or something similar;
      • In the extract files, open Project Site TemplateWeb Template> Project Site Template> ONet.xml
      • Find the feature that is causing the issue - in the example above, its 8c34f59f-8dfb-4a39-9a08-7497237e3dc4;
      • Add !-- and -- and the beginning and end of the line of the feature (as per screenshot)
      • I had to do this also for the following features;
      • SearchTaxonomyRefinementWebPartsHtml Feature - 8c34f59f-8dfb-4a39-9a08-7497237e3dc4
      • ViewFormPagesLockDown Feature - 7c637b23-06c4-472d-9a9a-7c175762c5c4
      • PWSFields Feature - f386a1b6-b0f4-46d2-a122-b3a1e56eeb16
      • SearchTaxonomyRefinementWebParts Feature - 67ae7d04-6731-42dd-abe1-ba2a5eaa3b48
      • PWSCTypes Feature - 389156cf-498b-41cd-a078-6cb086d2474b
      • Reporting Feature - 7094bd89-2cfe-490a-8c7e-fbace37b4a34
    1.  Use CabPack to package it back together
    2. Rename the .cab to a .wsp file
    3. Go to http://[pwa site]/PWA> Site Settings> Solutions and upload this solution and activate it;
    4. Go to PWA Settings> Workflow adn Project Detail Pages> Enterprise Project Types;
    5. Select each Project Type and change "Project Site Template" to the template you have just uploaded
