Solution for the policies of changing date for domain users‏ RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello ,

I have a domain and my users need to change the date frequently for their works. I have restricted the permission that users should not change the date. But now i want them to allow them that they can change the date without making any changes from the server. So please suggest me solution for this.

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

By default, domain users can't change the system time/date until they are member of local admin group. If, user is member of local admin group they can change the time. But again when it will sync with DC it will be reverted back.

If you configure below settings, apply GPO on OU where computer resides, you may have to make the change at the domain/OU level

computer Configuration\ Windows Settings\ Security Settings\ Local Policy\ User Rights Assignment   > change the system time
