No audio output device installed RRS feed

  • I have an HP laptop a recent update from windows to update the vista system the problem is after the update my audio indicated NO AUDIO OUPUT DEVICE INSTALLED I am confuse did the update ruin my audio. Please help how to correct this.

    It may be that the installed drivers for the sound card were corrupted or changed.


    Contact HP support for the latest Drivers for the installed sound card.

    You also can try to update your sound card driver to troubleshoot this problem.


    1. Click Start, right click Computer and choose Properties.

    2. Click Device Manager.

    3. Navigate to your sound card.

    4. Right click the drive, and click "Update driver software".

    5. Click "Search automatically for updated driver software"

    6. Restart the computer and test problem again.


    If the issue still persists, you can use system restore back to an early backup point.
