Skype Client Group Issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, this is a strange one.. We have a group that whenever anyone sends a message to it everyone is receiving a meeting invite link: "John Doe is inviting you to a Skype for Business meeting. You can join via the web or desktop client by clicking this link.  https://mett.mycompany.com/name of person who sent the chat message". Any ideas?

    Edit: We have found out that this is NOT isolated to persistent chat. It seems when someone sends a chat to a group of people it is happening.

  • They said we need to disable Teams Interoperability in the client policy, we have yet to implement and test to verify. Here is the command where "websearch" is the name of the client policy:

    $a = New-CsClientPolicyEntry -Name "EnableTeamsInteropEscalation" -Value "False"

    Set-CsClientPolicy -Identity "WebSearch" -PolicyEntry @{Add=$a}

  • Hi,

    Would you please provide the snapshot for the issue? It seems to be a really strange scenario.

    Does it occur to each persistent chat room? Or only the specific group?

    Kind regards,

    Calvin Liu

  • Hi, sorry we have zero updates to this. We are not sure what is going on but when sending to a group Skype is sending a meeting invite instead! It's not all the time happening as I can send to 3 people without issue but others it is happening. We went ahead and created a ticket with MS.

  • Microsoft is saying that "this behavior was introduced with the introduction of Teams interoperability." , which is strange since this just all of a sudden started happening without us doing anything or switching anything "on".
