Load OS requires user to hit F1 to continue RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have over 250 systems in a school  that requires users (students/teachers)  to press F1 to continue, so the OS loads.  These are Vista SP1 and XP SP3 systems.    This happens randomly - no set pattern.  Motherboard vendor says it is not a motherboard issue.  Any input is appreciated.

  • Hi,
I had the same problem on a few workstations a while back, running the same BIOS versions and it got solved by reseting the BIOS configuration to factory defaults.

  • The information on the screen is:

Please re-setting CPU Frequency in CMOS setup

Press F1 to continue       Delete to enter setup

    03/03/07-NF MCP61-6461K#11C-00

    Phoenix-Bios V.6.00

Is there a event log that would give me more information so I provide you with more information?

Thanks - Rita (Troubled in Cape)
