Upgrade Report Builder 2.0 to Report Builder 3.0 in Project Server 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to upgrade report builder 2.0 to report builder 3.0. I installed Report Builder 3.0 in server but whenever i am trying to open any reports from project server it is automatically opening in Report Builder 2.0 which is the earlier version.

My Server is 2 box. 1 - SQL Server 2008 R2 2. Web Front End

    Please help.

    Thanks & Regards, Benno

  • Actually Report Builder only works with SQL 2008 R2. Also MS confirmed that we will not be able to open report created in Report Builder 3.0 in Report Builder 2.0.

So ended up creating again the same reports in 2.0. :(

    Thanks & Regards, Benno

  • Hi there,

Can you open report builder 3.0 then open your reports? I would probably post this query in the SSRS forum found here:

    Thanks

  • Hi Paul,

Thanks for the reply actually one mistake is the client was using SQL 2008 only not R2. I found out that Report Builder 3.0 only works with SQL 2008 R2. So no way i can install and open the reports in report builder 3.0

The issue now i am facing is i have created different reports in test environment in my system which is using R2 and Report builder 3.0. I am not able to open or edit anything now in client server. Even it will not work properly there. any suggestion.

    Thanks & Regards, Benno
