Microsoft Forefront Client Security crash...WinSCard.dll RRS feed

  • We started seeing alerts come in this afternoon for engine crashes.  Looking at the log, I see this update...

    Microsoft Forefront Client Security signature version has been updated.
    Current Signature Version: 1.157.1352.0
    Previous Signature Version: 1.157.1326.0
    Update Source: User
    Signature Type: AntiSpyware
    Update Type: Delta
    User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
    Current Engine Version: 1.1.9800.0
    Previous Engine Version: 1.1.9800.0

    followed by this error message...

    Microsoft Forefront Client Security engine has been terminated due to an unexpected error.
    Failure Type: Crash
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Resource: file:\Device\HarddiskVolume1\Windows\System32\WinSCard.dll

    So far, I've got alerts for 8 servers and increasing.

    you can try to reinstall or  update your FCS version to Version 1.0 SP1 to check if the problem persists.
