windows 7 32 and 64 bit RRS feed

  • Question

  • my computer has windows 7 64 bit but will not run 64 bit software, such as internet explorer and itunes. the computer notifies me that i cannot use internet explorer 64 bit as default. i am assuming that itunes uses internet explorer to connect. i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes several times, i'm afraid to uninstall ether internet explorers. all i can get from itunes is incompatable software.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for the post!

The system by default use 32-bit internet explorer whatever you use 32-bit or 64-bit Windows. To start the 64-bit version of Internet Explorer, click Start, and then click Internet Explorer(64-bit). You can also add desktop and Quick Launch icons to start the 64-bit version. Please refer to this Microsoft official article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896457/en-us .

In addition, the iTunes you used, please download the right version compatible with Windows 7 from the official website. It’s not related to which version of Internet Explorer you use.

    Hope it helps!

    Best Regards,

    Miya Yao
