I don't need any "Documents" folders RRS feed

  • Question

  •

Is there any way to totally remove "Documents", "My Documents", "My Pictures", "My Music" etc.?

I store files in specific subdirectories and never use "My Documents" etc. so I don't want to see

them as default save folders, etc.  I've thought about deleting them from the user's directory but

I'm paranoid about this and think that it's not as simple as this.

Does anyone have any solutions?  Thanks.

The problem with removing an important folder like 'Documents' is that many installation programs are hard coded to place files in that folder. The Junction points in that folder (My Documents, My Music, My Videos, My Pictures, etc), even though they are not used anymore, are there to re-direct legacy installation programs to the new locations in Vista.
