Use a custom SQL port in the scripted installation of Fast For SharePoint

    Question

  • Hi All,

Probably I am not the first to ask that, but do you know if there is a trick to specify in the parameters of psconfig.ps1 a custom database port, as it is possible to do using Fast Configuration Wizard ?

Is anybody succeeded using -databaseConnectionString for exemple with "mysqlName:customport" for exemple ?

Too bad if it is possible to do it only with UI.

    Thank you in advance

PS: I read http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff381263.aspx (Run scripted installation)

  • I would recommend using a sql alias. You can set the server and port in the alias then you can use -databaseconnectionString Alias

  • Ivan,

Keep in mind that although sql aliasing may work for you, it is still not officially supported for FAST for Sharepoint 2010.

  • I agree, using sql aliasing doesn't work.
