Unable to update Timesheets RRS feed

  • When users enter their actual hours work in the timesheet and save the entry the system is not updating the remaining or actual hours worked in the table.  Also, it will not allow users to adjust the remaining hours of work in the table.

    Task Settings and Display set to Actual work done and work remaining; Resources should report their hours worked every day.

    Timesheet settings and defaults set to Current task assignments; Default timesheet tracking units are Days; Default timesheet units is hours; Allow future time reporting.

    Any suggestions on what might be causing this issue and how to resolve?

  • Hi,

    if you use timesheets, "Actual work done and work remaining" is not the best setting. Timesheets are based on work by day. Moreover, actuals entered in timesheets will not be applied to your projects.

    You have two options:

    • keep "Actual work done and work remaining" and ask your users to use "Tasks" (and not timesheets)
    • or move on with timesheets and change setting to Actuals/Period. In addition, you can enable "Single Entry Mode" in "Timesheet settings and defaults". This will force the tracking method to Actuals/Period. But whenever a timesheet is submitted, actuals will also be sent to project manager as Status Updates. After approval, he or shee will see the actuals in the project.
