Hi,
Windows Defender Beta builds have expired as of 12/31/2006. Users who are running pre-release (beta) builds of Windows Defender will see the following error:
Windows Defender
Application failed to initialize: 0x800106ba. A problem caused this program's service to stop. To start the service, restart your computer or search Help and Support for how to start a service manually. Please download the latest version at www.microsoft.com/defender.
Meanwhile, as Windows Defender has been replaced in Microsoft security Essentials, it is suggested to download Microsoft security Essentials instead.
Regards,

Mine is already set up for Automatic startup, but it still won't start up. I tried manually starting it, and I get this error message: "The Windows Defender service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."Tuesday, October 1, 2013 6:00 PM
