Compatibility with SharePoint 2013 SP1 and SQL Server 2012 SP3 CU6 (i.e. SQL Server 11.00.6567 version)

  • Hi All,

    We are planning to apply SQL Server 2012 SP3 CU6 to SharePoint Server 2013 SP1.

    Can any one please let me know does SQL Server 2012 SP3 CU6 (i.e SQL Server 11.00.6567 version) is comparability with SharePoint Server 2013 SP1?

    Much appreciate if someone reply on this.

    yes, SQL 2012 SP3  it is compatabile with SharePoint Server 2013 Sp1

  • Hi Shreekanth,

    As Sql-Server 2012 SP3 supports for SharePoint , CU's also will support with no issues. If you see majority of fixing areas in CU6 are analysis services, MDS, SQL services, Security and High availability. No issues were rolling out through this CU's in SharePoint. Hence you no need to worry about SharePoint farm.

    You need to think twice, If SharePoint application uses any of the Sql applications (analysis services, MDS, SQL services, Security and High availability). Anyhow for sake of safety, First apply CU in Test lab and moved to production based on your confidence.

       We happened to install the SQL patch and everything was working perfectly fine from SharePoint end. We have not faced any issues post activity. Thank you very much for your help.
