Windows error Windows 8.1 Error code 0x80004005 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Windows 8.1 will not install. First of all it continually said that Zune would need to be uninstalled. Once I had found a way to completely uninstall all the tentacles of that (UNZOONE), the system tried again to install but stopped with this message. What is going on here? I have the full version of Windows 8.

    Help please !

  • Hi,

Before upgrade to Windows 8.1, please first install all available updates including system, drivers and Modern app.

Then, make sure that the 3rd part security application is removed, since it will sometimes cause the updates issue.

If there is any external device plugged in your computer, please unplug it. Another thing is that let’s connect the internet via wired connection.

Then, try to install it again.

In addition, if we still fail to install Windows 8.1, please collect following logs and upload here for further research:

    setuperr.log and setupact.log under C:\Windows\Logs\PBR\PreRollbackLogs\ and C:\WINDOWS\PANTHER\

    Keep post.

    Regards,
