  • Hi,

Yes. you can use Audiocodes MP gateways to connect (ATA) analog phones to Lync Server. but you need to have Mediant 1000/800 infront of the MP Gateway to do this as MP is not certified Gateway for Lync Server. i have done this and it's working great and you can re use all of your Analog phones with Lync as well.

  • Yes, you can either either a Direct SIP connection between Lync and an IP-PBX or SIP Trunking service, or a supported Media Gateway.  See the open interop page for more details: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/lync/gg131938

  • Since you specifically mentioned analog devices, here is a link that will explain analog device support:

  • Hi Irfan,

Note that Lync does not support T.38, so if any of those analogue devices are fax machines, check out the following article which explains how to handle it:

    http://www.sebastian-grewing.de/2011/03/23/fax-t-38-integration-with-lync/

I'm a fan of option 2. All faxing services bypass Lync altogether.

  • Hello,

Thanks for your answers. What I want to know actually is, let's say we are actually using a TDM PBX and we have around 500 analog phones. We want to move our communication infrastructure completely on LYNC and remove the TDM PBX as it is end of life.

But you will agree with me replacing 500 analog phones with 200 IP Lync compatible phones is not cheap.

I found on audiocodes website that there are mediapack gateways that can be used to connect analog phones with LYNC.

    Anybody ever try this?

Please let me have your feedback about same.

    Regards,
