first login takes too much time every day RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a trouble in user’s first login. When users want to login to PWA  and enter their user name and password it takes too much time(sometimes about 5minutes) .it’s just for the first login in the day. Every day they have same issue for their first login

    What’s the problem?

How can I trace the problem?

We have installed a SharePoint farm with 4 servers:

Database server ,Application Server, Web Server, Report Server

All servers are in domain A and all users are in domain B

  • Hi Sam,

To begin with if the issue is observed for any one user in a day who tries to connect to the PWA then this is expected and he is the one who wakes up the w3wp.exe and start things up.

For a solution to this you can visit the links mentioned below which helps to wake up the w3wp.exe

  • You can use http://spwakeup.codeplex.com/ but please do a thorough testing in your development or test server before you implement in your production server.
